The View!

This is the view from my kitchen window. I'm taking the picture through a dirty window so it's not that clear. Incase you're wondering, that is Lake Washington. Pretty huh. There's nothing like Pacific Northwest sunsets and scenery!

Playing with natural light

The sun actually came out today, so I thought I would take advantage of it and get out the camera. Not exactly soft light huh.... where's my frosted shower curtain when I need it??? (that was a reference to a book I read)

Angela must be PREGNANT! Right?

Here's my Thanksgiving.............

I wake up feeling not so good. (My two kids have both taken a turn having the stomach flu this past week) I lie to myself and say I don't feel well because I hadn't been getting much sleep. So we get in the car and drive three hours to Centralia (should have been 1 hour 40 minutes). As soon as we get there everyone sits down and eats. I can not eat because I am really feeling sick by now. After thankgiving feast, I sit on the couch and watch TV for a few minutes and then sit outside the bathroom waiting to you know what. I tell Nate, time to go. Now, this whole time when people are asking why aren't you eating, what's wrong, I know they are thinking that I must be pregnant, eventhough I explain that both children have been sick. On the way out the door as I say see you at Christmas, my uncle says, I guess by then you'll be two months along. I assured him this was not the case, but I know no one believes me. Whatever. (I'm sure I looked pregnant to them)
I'll spare you the rest of the details, but yes, I was sick and spent the rest of the night feeling horrible! Nate got sick about one hour after we got home and still feels ill. I prayed so super hard that I would wake up feeling well because there was just no way I could take care of the kids if I didn't improve. My prayers were answered and I felt pretty good this morning. (Friday) I even made it to a few stores by nine o'clock! Thanksgving was not as I had envisioned it, but there are a few things I found to be thankful for. 1) I got to see my family even if it was brief 2) I learned how to make homemade rolls (thanks Kim, and Betsy?)
3)MY husband was able to drive home and not be sick 4) My aunt sent me home with turkey and stuffing 5)Gage got to play with his second cousins and had a blast 6)I didn't gain five pounds!
Sorry about the misleading title, I couldn't help it!

Reasons why my new diet is not working :)

Monday: A successful day

Tuesday: McDonald's double cheeseburger, brownie ( (I bought a new weight watchers scale this day that tells me how much fat I am. YIKES.)

Wednesday: A whole loaf of bread from Great Harvest..... This could be it's own blog. I have never had great harvest bread before this day. My neighbor brought me this round loaf of Apple cinnemon bread and it was the best thing I have ever ate! I have been craving it ever since.

Thursday: Churro from Costco!

Friday: KFC!

Needless to say, I have had a satifying week as far as appetite goes....... not so satisfying in terms of weight loss and self image!!!!! I'm not going to try and fool myself into starting a new diet on Monday since it is the week of thanksgiving, lets be real. However, the monday after that, guaranteed, a new diet!! (all my diets start on Mondays)

My Good Helper.......... (Gage or Hamburger?)

Last night I showed Gage the apron that I bought for Kyah and sure enough, he wanted to wear it and help Mom. I couldn't help but take a few pictures. You may notice that we are making hamburger helper in the picture. I had planned on making taco soup when I realized I had no taco seasoning. I told this to Nate and he asked me if I could make hamburger helper. Apparently he misses it........... WHAT?? We ate so much hamburger helper while in college that I could go the rest of my life and never eat it again and die a happy woman. But, I want to keep the other half happy... hamburger helper it is.

The Wonder Cure!

I finally gave in and bought Airborne about a month ago. I had heard too many people swear by it not to try it! I too am now one that swears by it. (Incase your wondering, this blog is inspired by my friend Kim's blog) The night before the big move, I felt a head cold coming on, you know what I'm talking about. Then I remembered, I had Airborne. So I gagged it down and sure enough, I did not get sick. The stuff is fabulous. I have taken it several times since and had the same result. Sometimes you have to take it in the morning and at night. That's what I did yesterday and then took it this morning too. The stuff is amazing. Please, do yourself a favor and fork out the six bucks it cost for 10 droplets (they're like alkaseltzer(sp?)I get the lemon-lime kind) and buy this product. Here's a note for all those who may be nursing. I think it may cause the babies to get a diaper rash, or at least be more prone to it because there is a lot of vitamin c in airborne and you know how acidic that is. Let me know if this stuff works for you!!!

YES!!!!!

I finally figured out how to title my blogs!! You have no idea what a relief this is! Apparently this feature was turned off before and I finally found it to turn it on. Yes!

Random Gift??!!!

Today there was a knock at the door today and there it was, a package from Amazon. I had no idea what it was, but it happens to be the choice of internet store for my husband. I kind of thought it was more books on studying for the GMAT. Except when I called Nate, he gave me strict instructions not to open it. NOTE: This was the wrong move for Nate. I don't do surprises well. On our first Christmas together we opened presents on Dec. 10 because I could not wait. Basically my cuiousity was seriously peaked and it strained every fiber in my body not to open it! He should have told me it was GMAT books. Anyway, luckily Nate was home just a few minutes later and said I could open this mysterious package. Inside were two books on digital photography!! Something I am very interested in but not too sure where to start learning about it. The book titles are The Digital Photography Book and Master Lighting Guide. So for the next hour I locked the door to my bedroom and started reading. (Oprah may have been on the television too). It was such a nice break! I am excited about my new books as it has been quite a while since I have read for the purpose of learning and enjoyment. And, I am thankful for my sweet thoughtful husband.

This was the photo shoot I did for her 1st birthday. (one month ago today. How is it that kids grow up so fast!) Sorry there are so many pics, I couldn't make up my mind.

She looks so little.

Elmo for the third and final year!!

This is one of the few I got of them together.

She was too busy running away!

Thought this was cute.

Crunching the leaves.
