Winning BIG!!

Nate, along with two teammates, entered a Business Analysis competition last month and made it to the final four. They competition started out with over 100 teams between BYU and the University of Utah. Yesterday the final four teams, two from the U and two from the Y, gave presentations of their finding to a board of judges. Afterward they were asked questions by the judges, a lot like American Idol. :) Then the judges deliberated and came back with the winners. They announced 3rd place, not Nate's team, then they announced 2nd place, still not Nate's team. At this point I knew Nate's team had won because there was no way they were 4th. And then they announced first place and just like we suspected, Nate's team won!!!! Here's what they won.

1. $10,000.00 to split between the three of them
2. 50 inch plasma TV for each of them
3. Suite tickets to tonight's Jazz game, dinner included
4. A sweet Ogio backpack/laptop bag
5. Omniture(name of the company sponsoring the competition) blanket, towel, t-shirt, water bottle, and hat

6. Oh, I forgot to mentin that his team won the audience choice award so they each got an extra $200.00. They are giving it to the MBA program though in the form of a Wii, Mario Kart, and controllers for the lounge.

7. AND I won a raffle and got a $25.00 American Express card.

Pretty Amazing!!! This win is HUGE for our family and the stage of life we are in. I'm sooooooooooo proud of Nate and his team for winning. They deserved it! They spent lots and lots of hours working on this project. Their powerpoint was AMAZING. I wish you all could have been there! I took some short videos.

This is right after they say the 2nd place team. So I realize that Nate's team is first. I pretty much was a mess. I was shaking and freaking out. So much adrenalin. The video is kind of embarrassing actually.

Piano Man

Gage started taking piano lessons last week. So far, so good. His teacher is a cute senior girl at the high school here. Here is a little video of him practicing...... in his pajamas. :) I chose the video where he messes up because I think it's cute.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a fun day today. We started off with pink heart shaped pancakes. Then we made pink rice crispy treats shaped like hearts. We had a fancy family dinner where we turned off all the lights, lit candles, and had sparkling cider to drink. Kyah and I had made chocolate dipped strawberries and marshmallows to have for dessert. The kids love having fancy family dinner. Gage requested that we have a "toast" with our cups. I asked him what we were toasting to and he said, "to cups!" It was pretty funny.
It snowed all day today and the kids played out in it for a while. Gage came in and told Kimm he didn't have fun playing in the snow because I wouldn't let him, I was taking too many pictures. Oopsie. Lesson learned. Here are pictures of my two little Valentines!




Nate and I went out to dinner last night. That was a real treat since going out to dinner doesn't really happen anymore!!

She Belongs in Magazines

So maybe I'm a little biased. Can you blame me?? :) I couldn't help but take her picture yesterday in her little furry coat.

This One's for Erin

I was going through old folders of pictures and happen to run into these beautiful photos of Scott and Erin's kids. So cute!! I though Erin might like to see them. I think I took them around halloween time, or maybe it was Thanksgiving?????

I have a new nephew!

My brother TJ and his wife Lindsay had a baby today!! They had a little boy and he is the cutest!!! I wish I knew how to get the picture off my cell phone and onto the computer. I'm a proud auntie!

I now have 4 nephews and 1 niece. Too fun.
