Before and After

I have been wanting Sheer Cover for some time now. It is made by Bare Minerals. I first saw this on an infomercial a long time ago. (I am a sucker for infomercials.) I finally saw it one day at Bed Bath and Beyond. I informed Nate that I would not be happy on Christmas unless this was under the tree. I might not have said it just like that, but I certainly hinted.............bluntly. So my sweet husband listened and went to BB+B and had no clue what to do. He asked a male worker, who was almost as clueless except he did know where to find it. The worker grabbed one for Nate and under the tree it went. I opened it up on Christmas absolutley elated! My informercial dreams fulfilled.......almost. The color of it was Dark. Basically the color was perfect for Beyonce, not me. Anyway, I have been back to the store four times and they never have the color I want. Apparently, 5th times a charm. Today they had it in Light to Medium shade. Yeah for that. I decided that I should take a before and after picture, just like on the infomercial. I don't know how much you can really tell from these pics. The lighting in the bathroom is horrible and I wasn't exactly patient in trying to get a good shot.

Note: Sheer Cover is a foundation for your face.

I can't even believe I am going to post these. Not my best photos of myself. I should have smiled or something! Love to all, Ang

Angela's been to the movies

I went to the movies this past weekend and the one before. It's hard to believe I know. It may never happen again. Anyway, I thought I should give reviews of these movies.

Dreamgirls

Two thumbs up. I really liked this movie. I enjoy music, so it was right up my ally. However, you should note that it is a musical. I hadn't expected that. It was a normal movie, then it would bust into musical mode, normal movie, musical mode. You get the picture. When it was in musical mode, it was almost over the top cheesy. I still enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Catch and Release

This gets one thumb up. I liked it, but not as much as Dreamgirls. It was funnier than I had thought it would be. I left the movie feeling a little bit sad for one character. I don't want to give too much away. It was entertaining and didn't have any slow pionts. Just a warning: There are two sexual encounters, one at the beginning and one in the middle.

Has anyone else seen these? What did you think?

Love to all, Ang

Busy Weekend

We have been busy busy with Aunt Anne this weekend. We went to the big S city aquarium on Saturday, then home to cook dinner, and then out to see a late movie with just the girls. (This warrants it's own post later) Sunday we went to church of course and then down to the hometown to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Lots of cousins and aunts and uncles were there. It was fun. When we got home, I got the kids to bed and then watched to recorded episode of 24 I missed last week. After that I was so tired I could barely hold my eyes open! I went to bed at 10:25. Pretty much a record for me! Anne got up with Gage this morining while I slept in. I'm a really good host. That brings me to now. I would like to post some of the thousands of pics I've taken, but they are still on the card and not on the hard drive. I'll work on that. Instead I will post a few more from Friday's visit to the park. Love to all. Ang

No Other Choice

It finally happened! I went to sign onto blogger today and I had to switch to the google blogger. I don't really know what this means for me, I guess I'll figure it out. Have the rest of you switched? Is there anything I need to know about it?

Jordan's Basketball

I tried to get some action shots at Jordy's game. I used my portrait lens. Funny huh. I had to because the gym is a little dim and in order to get photos that were exposed correctly, I needed the appeture(sp?) to open all the way up. Anyway, here's my first go at sports photography. I did not even try to photoshop any of them.

Playing defense

Too many fouls. Take a break.

"Go Jordy!"

Gage covered his ears the whole time! He didn't like the buzzers and whistles.

Jordy never shoots the ball. This is the only pic I got of him shooting. Unfortunately I don't have a zoom lens so I could not zoom out to get his whole body.

Getting his fifth foul

My Friend Kim

The first time I saw Kim in church I knew we would be friends. I went up to her after church and introduced myself. (She doesn't remember that :> ) She says I invited her to an enrichment (I kinda remember that :> ) Over time our visits with each other became more and more frequent. I was very happy about it. That I do remember! Our friendship grew and grew until we literally would call everyday to see what the events were and how that would fit into our lives. We became very close friends and still are.
Kim's friendship to me has meant a lot for several reasons! After I had Kyah, I was struggling with adjusting. There were days that I wouldn't even get dressed out of my pajamas, or cook dinner, or take a shower, or pick anything up. This was about the time that we started doing more and more things together. Kim was probably the main reason that I was able to find a way out of this rut that I was in. She gave me a reason to get up and get dressed. I had things to look forward to doing during the day. She helped me to be a better mother, wife, and person just by being my friend. I'm eternally grateful for that.
When we would go and do things, Kim was such a great help! She would take Kyah if Gage had to go to the bathroom and I wouldn't even have to ask. She would grab a bag from me if she noticed I needed help. She would share Grant's lunch with Gage if I wasn't as prepared that particular day. She was the friend that I desperately needed.
When it came time for Kim to move to Alabama, I was crushed! We pretended like nothing was changing and kept doing our daily activities. Then one day I went over to her house and she had packed up a lot of things that she was worried about the movers packing. I couldn't ignore the inevitable anymore. I started crying and pretty much couldn't stop. Mark came home from work and saw the situation and asked if he should leave us alone. Kind of funny. The day that she left was more of the same. I hung out while the truck was being loaded until it was time to say goodbye. Pretty much we balled in the street, told each other how much we loved the other, and drove away. (I am now crying while writing this)
So, I had a chance to drive to Portland to reunite with Kim and her son Grant. I forgot to mention up above how much our children love each other! I think Grant was probably Gage's first real friend. They are two peas in a pod! When we got to Portland, the boys could hardly contain their excitement! Gage hopped out of the car and the kids hugged and Gage kissed Grant on the cheek. Kim got a great picture of this that she posted on her blog. We went to the zoo, ate pizza, and hung out at her sister's apt. (Thanks Diana!) The boys were their usual selves. In Kim's words, "they played, sometimes great, sometimes not so great." So true. I think the reason for this is because they are just like each other in many ways. But they really do love each other. Gage has often mentioned that we should move to Alabama! We got to show each other our new lenses and talk about photography. Kim is really good! It was a wonderful day that was very reminiscent of pre-Alabama. And of course what would a goodbye be without a few tears. I did pretty good, until I got into my car! Then I was worried about driving because I couldn't see. Luckily I was able to gain control shortly thereafter! The main point is: We had a great time hanging out with our friends! It was so good to see Kim and Grant! We will miss them terribly AGAIN, but can't wait until May when they will come back for a visit! WE LOVE YOU!

One of the things I love about Grant is how excited he gets!!

February's Friend

For all those of you who have a subscription to the Friend Magazine that the LDS church puts out each month, go get the February issue. Now, open the cover and look on the left side. There you will see my little nephew Josh!! It is so exciting. His talk that he gave in primary made it into the magazine. He is such an amazing little guy! I'm proud of him.
Josh and I share a birthday! 20 years apart. Best present I ever got.
The picture here is my brother, his wonderful wife, and my two super cute nephews and my super cute neice. Josh is the older of the two boys.

Note:I spent the day in Portland with my good friend Kim. I will be posting about that tomorrow. I didn't get home until after 9 o'clock tonight and I had to get ready for playschool tomorrow. So tomorrow I will be spending the day in my hometown. (I am going to the brother's b-ball game in the afternoon) So, hopefully I will get the post done tomorrow! AND Kim and Amy, I can not look at your blogs tonight. I keep getting an error page. Crazy blogger!

Who Is This Girl???

My sister Kylee moved to BYU three weeks ago. The other day she called and told me that she had emailed me three pics of herself and I needed to look at them and decide which one should go into her ward directory. I opened up the pictures and started laughing out loud. She has only been there three weeks and has already embodied all the steriotypes of a BYU girl. The pictures were nice, but they did not look like the sister I know and love. Here hair was huge and in nice ringlets only produced by a curling iron. Her roomate did her hair all night so she could take a picture for the directory. She would have to look good to impress the future Mr. Kylee. (She is going to die when she reads this.) The reality is, she is a down to earth girl that wears sweats all the time and isn't afraid to go over to the boys apt. with no makeup on. Or to get sweaty on a date playing sports. She actually went to her first ward prayer in her sweats. (Ward prayer is held on Sunday evenings when all the college kids come together.) And certainly she is in no hurry to get married. She doesn't care what other think. She is who she is. Take it or leave it. NORMALLY. That's why I laughed so hard at this picture. Who is this girl???

I do love her! And she does look cute!

Snow

I guess I am going to have to start posting my blogs during the day when Nate is at work. He pretty much uses the computer at night and it is impossible to post a blog. He is excused though because he has important things to do. He makes websites for extra money, he studies for his GMAT test that is coming up, he balances the checkbook, and he is making a website for me. (Exciting isn't it?!)

Anyway, so I finally downloaded some pics from our recent snow experience! I know my kids are not dressed appropriately. We only stayed out for about five minutes for this reason. Poor K's little hands were freezing! Mine too! And you may notice that G has on RAIN boots, not snow boots. I don't think he cared!

Obsessions- the kids

His Obsession.........
Letters
He has always been obsessed with letters. He knew all the letters of the alphabet at 18 months. Everywhere I went people were amazed. He would point out the letters on everything he saw. Everyone always asked how I taught him. The truth was, I never really did. Technically, I did I suppose. He had a favorite book. Baseball ABC's. We read it everyday and then one day he just knew the letters and their sounds. To this day he loves everything associated with letters. He turns most games into a spelling lesson somehow. I got him an easel for Christmas and it could be one of the best purchases ever. He spends a lot of time writing on it and playing "guessing words." This is where he makes lines on the board like hangman and I have to guess letters and he fills them in until I can guess the word. Sometimes I am the one who has to make a word for him to guess. The other day I walked by and could not believe my eyes. He had written hambrger. Yes, he was missing the U. I thought it was pretty amazing since hamburger is not a word that he has ever asked me to spell for him. I had to take a pic. I later figured out that he learned that word from this little laptop toy that we have. That's my boy, obsessed with letters.

On the other hand.......

Her obsession..........
Climbing!

This girl will climb onto/into anything! If there is a laundry basket by her, she is in heaven! Whether she climbing into it or ontop of it, she loves it. As you can see form this picture, she loves to climb into boxes, no matter how big or how small. She will scale any staircase, much to Nate's dismay. I was getting ready for church last Sunday in my bathroom and when I came out, there she was on top of the table! She has to be watched at all times. She won't sit still for very long. And even though she does like books, she will only sit for a page or two and then off......... to climb some more. Certainly children are born with their own personalities and traits. G and K are so different and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Lame

Seriously, I am so annoyed with this blog setup. Once again my links have moved to the bottom of the page. I have no idea why, I did not mess with them at all. AHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm about to pull my hair out.

Not much going on

Sorry about not posting the past two days. I have gone to post the past two nights and Nate has been working hard at the computer, and then I go to bed.

We have been snowed in here due to an icy hill! I took the kids out to play in the snow once and it didn't go so well. I learned that we really don't have snow appropriate clothes. I took a few pics and will post them as soon as I make space for them on the hard drive. The ice on the roads is pretty much melted now. Thank goodness! I can't wait to get back to our normal activities. OH, I went ot Old Navy today and they have 50 percent off all of their winter clearance! I got G a winter coat for next year for only $6.49!! (I got lots of other deals too!) There's nothing like a good deal to boost your spirits!!

New Look

I changed my template due to the problems I was having with the other. I get so frustrated. My links were no longer available, my profile pic was missing, previous posts, and my archives were gone too! I tried to use the same template to see if they would come back, but no. So then I tried this pretty pink one..... and my links, previous posts, and archives came back. I still don't know where my profile info is. Whatever. I don't necessarily like this one, but I really don't care right now. Maybe tomorrow I'll care again about the looks. ( I do like pink, it's more the layout that is not my favorite.)

Sad about the Seahawks!!! Next year. One of the counselors in the bishopric came into primary during church to give me the news. Too funny. Then I got thinking, how did he know???

Meet Hannah Michelle

Hannah Michelle is the newest adopted member of our family straight from the cabbage patch! Her birthday is June 3rd and she is a newborn.....and always will be. She came complete with a carier which doubles as a feeding chair, a pacifier, and a bottle. Also official adoption papers and her birth cerificate. I think I was the most excited one about k getting this doll for Christmas. (I think because I wanted a cabbage patch doll more than anything on earth when I was little, but only ended up with a homemade knock off.) My friends however had cabage patch dolls and we loved them. The one thing I had forgotten about these dolls is that they have their own smell. For some reason when I opened up the doll and got a whiff of her cabbage patch scent, I was sent right back to childhood excitement. I made everyone smell her asking, "Don't you remember that smell?" Everyone did by the way. I just love this little Hannah Michelle and it is fun to watch K with her. She will only give the Baby about 30 seconds of attention before dropping her. She likes to feed her the bottle and put her in her stroller. Of course she also likes to hug and kiss her. Maybe there is hope for K being a girly girl after all. (Previously she only wanted to play with G's cars)

driving me crazy!!

I just have to vent. Every single stupid time I want to leave a comment for someone else, I have to do it twice. You know how you have to type in the crazy shaped/colored string of letters exactly as it appears, apparently I can never get it right and I have to do it again. Except for that I am very careful in trying to decode what the letters are so I can type it in correctly. It doesn't matter though. Does anyone else deal with this annoying occurance??? Or am I really not capable of typing the letters in correctly. Maybe I need glasses?????

I know I shouldn't get so worked up over something so silly. It's just been building up.

Also, does anyone know if I change my template, will I lose all of my blogs?

More Photoshop

I had another lesson in photoshop tonight. Here are the things I was working on. Hope you don't mind me sharing. :) I included pre and post photoshopped picss.
