Christmas Pics.

The pink chair was a big hit. Thanks Grandma. It actually belongs to K.

I have an obsession with taking his picture through things. I don't know why.

My Christmas Present

Nate got me a new lens for my Cannon Rebel for Christmas. It is a 85mm f/1.8. I put that bad boy on my camera and took one picture. Then for some reason, I felt like I should put it back in the box until I could learn more about it. Well, I ended up finding it online for incredibly cheaper. So I took the lens back to the camera store and then ordered it online. The web page said 5 to 9 business days to get here. Well, when the confirmation email came, it said it would arrive between Feb. 1 and Feb. 17. I tried to choose a speedier shipping method and apparently it doesn't matter. The arrival date remains the same. I guess I will have to be patient. So here is my one picture that I did get to take. You can tell that G is not thrilled with having his picture taken.

Christmas Eve

These pics were taken after church on Christmas Eve. I already wrote a previous blog about the events of the day. I would link it here, but have no clue.

Christmas Eve Eve

We had our first annual Christmas party this year. We only invited family. We had pizza, cinnamon rolls, cookies, hot cocoa, and wassail. We had a white elephant gift exchange, played the DVD version of the price is right game, and other games with prizes. I snapped some photos.

Here are 4 of my 6 brothers. From left to right their ages are: 12,15,24,22. My 18 and 31 year old brothers are missing.

This is Grandma (G-funk). She can not stop laughing when she gets going. It's so funny.

My sister Kylee was the big winner of the showcase showdown.

The chairs lined up on the right were for the Price is Right Contestants.

A Must See

My little sister and I (she's 20) went out last night. She's moving away to go to college next week. So we saw the movie We Are Marshall. This is absolutely a must see movie. It is the best movie I have seen in a long time. It was funny. It was sad. It was touching. It was an all around feel good movie. Plus, it's a true story. It did use a few swear words, but not the big bomb, if you know what I mean. It is one I didn't mind paying 7 dollars to go and see.

So my sister is moving away and this is an all too familiar scene for me. Recently my good friend moved away to Alabama. This feels a lot like that. With my friend, we basically pretended like nothing was happening until about a week before the big move. Same thing with the sister. It wasn't until Christmas (driving home) that it hit me. I cried about half of the way home. (40 min. drive) I don't appreciate everyone that is closest to me moving away! :) Yes, I know that these moves are what is best. Once again, thank goodness for Verizon!

Quick Note

I want to post Christmas pics, but I have not put them on my hard drive yet. I need to delete pics first and that is a task I dread. But, we did have a great Christmas! K woke up first and when I went in to get her, G promptly sat up straight and excitedly asked, "Is it morning time?!" I got a good laugh out of that. He loved his new easel and wrote all the letters of the alphabet on it before we could open any gifts. K loved her stroller. She immediately began strolling around the house when she saw it. We got this all on video. I wish I could figure out how to put a clip on here. More acurately, I wish I had the energy to figure out how to put a clip on here. Anyway, pics are coming...... sometime. Hope everyone had a fabulous Chirstmas!

What a Christmas Eve!

Yes folks, it is 1:20am and I am just starting to think about going to bed! What a busy day I've had. We went to church at 9:00 this morning and had a beautiful sacrament meeting. I subbed in the nursery the rest of church. Then we came home, ate, and then got ready to head to the home town. We went to my Dads first. We had a meal together and exchanged gifts. Then we headed to my moms. We got there at 5:30, but she didn't show up until 7:00. It was fine though because all of us kids were there and that is fun. It was suppose to be a Bunko night, but that had to be postponed until tomorrow night. We got home about 9:00. I put K to bed and then Nate thought that we should watch the Ruldolf movie with G before putting him to bed. Finally both were down at about 9:50. YIKES. So at 10:00 I started making 2 homemade batches of cinemon rolls, one raspberry crisp, and one special jello. And then of course there was the wrapping I hadn't done and the stocking stuffing. All the while, A Christmas Story was on TV. I still have yet to see it from start to finish. So your wondering why am I writing this blog... RIGHT! Well, the answer is because I am waiting for the second batch of cinemon rolls to cool so I can frost them and then hit the sack!!! I hope the kids sleep in! Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!! May we all remember the Savior during this wonderful season!

A girl has gotta have some boots.

I love these little boots! And K does too! They are actually too big right now. I couldn't resist trying them on her. She likes to carry them all around now. I'm not sure why. She actually didn't really like having them on. Maybe she know's when somethings cute. Isn't it so true that when it comes to shoes, if they are cute enough, it doesn't matter how well they fit! I however how vowed to not go for style, but comfort when it comes to running shoes. Anyway, the only point I wanted to make was: Look at these boots!!

More Info. on the Traditions

So here is the story of how Nate and I got into the discussion of traditions. I was wrapping presents the other night and then I put them under the tree. Nate promptly asked, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" That's how it all started. He was appalled that I was putting them under the tree. So for those of you wondering (eventhough I know you figured it out), my family put them under before Christmas. (At least what my mom had wrapped so far) Nate's family did not put any under the tree and then an "explosion" under the tree Christmas morning. Thank you all for your comments!!!!! I have read them all to Nate. LOL!!! You will be happy to know that we have come to a compromise. I get to put a few presents out under the tree beforehand, but the majority have to come out Christmas Morning. I'm happy with that.

Memorable Conversations

I can't help but document two conversations. One was this morning with Gage. The other was two days ago with my husband.

1.
Gage: Mom look! It's Clifford. He's really big.

Me: Yes, he's HUGE!

Gage: Yeah, just like you.

Thanks Gage!

2.
Nate: Angela, just get me that watch for Christmas.

Me: That's so boring Nate.

Nate: ANGELA, that's me. I read business books for fun.

I just thought these two conversations were too funny not to share.

Battle of the Traditions!

Because Gage is old enough to understand Christmas this year, Nate and I have found ourselves in quite a "discussion" over what Christmas is suppose to be like. In order for you to make a fair unbiased comment, I wont reveal what traditon belongs to who.
So basically one of us thinks that presents should be under the tree prior to Christmas morning. On Christmas morning you find your one big Santa present unwrapped next to your stocking. The other one of us thinks that there should be no presents at all under the tree until Christmas morning. Santa brings it all baby.
Nate is convinced that my family is the only family that does Christmas the way that we do. So, I want to know. How do you do Christmas????? Presents under the tree prior to Christmas morning or not! Please leave a comment. Thanks. Don't worry, your comments will not cause an argument. We were actually having a pretty funny conversation about this. :)

Pics from the Storm

I need to appologize for my lack of posting last night. I basically forgot. I got out of the groove because of my power being out. So tonight, two posts.

I took a couple of pictures from the storm that I want to attach. The road that is being blocked off is the little road that leads to our apartment complex. It ends at our apts. I basically walked to the front of the apartment complex to take these pics. Notice that in one of the pics you can see the swingset/slide toy that we had a photoshoot at a couple of weeks ago. It isn't a park, it belongs to the Korean Presbyterian Church that you see in the pics, but we play on it. The Korean Presbyterians don't mind. :) There was a tree down right behind the church that runs into the toys and a tree down right next to the church at the end of the road. You can't really tell in the pictures, I just wanted to mention it. These pics also don't do justice to the damage that was done!!
Also, I should have mentioned that the trip to the urgent care clinic was for Gage. We went on Saturday evening and he had a double ear infection. So then Nate tracked down the nearest 24 hour pharmacy to get the prescription filled and didn't make it back to my mom's until after 10 o'clock at night. Gage is feeling way better now.

I am the New Myth Buster

Some of you may remember my blog about Airborne. Well, I have tested it's healing powers again. For those of you who appreciate every Airborne that you take because you know how expensive they are, you will apreciate this.

I have a cold sore. YUCK! This is only the third one I've had in my life. The problem is they have all been in the past 18 months. Yeah, I'm concerned. I'm absolutely positve that one of my siblings probably gave it to me. (maybe we shared a chapstick or a soda) Two of my siblings have always been prone to cold sores their whole lives. I have always felt fortunate not to have had to experience this. The first one I got, I decided was a fluke, maybe an allergic reaction. Then I got the second one and was starting to doubt the allergic theory. Now I'm possitive that I am cursed! Let me finally get to the point.

I was thinking/wondering/hoping that Airborne could heal my cold sore.....FAST!! So this afternoon I started my experiment an ingested the miracle drug. And...................................................................... ............ ............................................................... .......................................................................................................... .................................................................... ................ .....NOTHING!!! The sore seems to be going on it's merry way affecting my once flawless face. (LOL) Let a lesson be learned, a myth be busted: Airborne will not heal your cold sore. Please do not waste it on trying. It has been scientifically proven by yours truly!!!

A Quick Update

I just want to write a quick post to let everyone know that we have power again!!! Yeah Raw for that! We lost it Thursday night and it came back on Sunday morning. We spent two cold nights here and the third at my Mom's. It has been a crazy few days! Incuding long gas lines, learning how to work our firplace's damper, a trip to the urgent care clinic, a night at the 24 hour pharmacy, plenty of spoiled goods, thousands of downed trees, canceled church, and a camera with a dead battery that could not be charged!!!!!!! Also including these realizations, pioneer women were tough, we watch too much TV, we use the computer too much, we are not even close to prepared for emergencies, we have forgotten what it's like talk to each other, and there's nothin like a candle lit game of yatzee on a Friday night! I LOVE POWER! Overall, we are doing very well. We have each other, and what else matters.

A Day at the Park: Part 3 - Portrait?

So I thought I would try to practice on Gage and get some portrait shots. Didn't last long. See for yourself.

Sitting for a second.

And off he goes. Not much practice for me.

Note: My power is flickering as I post this blog. If I do not post tomorrow, you know that I have no power. Apparently we are going to have the worst wind storm we've had in 13 years. Nice huh. Have I mentioned I live by trees??????

A Day at the Park: Part 2 - Self Timer

Gage thought that the self time on the camera was so much fun. I think the pictures are hilarious! We must have taken 20 pics. Just a note. Kyah did not want to hold still for any period of a time to be in a pic.

This is me telling Gage to hurry hurry hurry. He thinks he's hillarious.
Anyone else wondering where Kyah is????????? (I'm pretty sure this is the time she escaped and was running for the road. Don't worry, the road was far away.)

Trying for all three of us together.

The most important one's in the photo. Having the full head in the pic is over rated anyway. Right?

This picture makes me laugh the most. Gage came flying down the slide at the last second and I caught him just in time. This certainly was not planned.

Finally, one where we are both in it and smiling.

This was actually the one picture I let Gage take. :)
Fun times.

Note:Kim and Amy
I am not being allowed to post comments on your sites and am most frustrated!!!!!!!!!
Amy, I love the pic of the boys you posted. PRICELESS.
Kim, I also love the pics you posted of Grant. His little precious cheeks look rosy. Too cute.
Drastic times call for drastic measures!

A Day at the Park

It was nice enough to go outside for about an hour! Yeah for that. I hope this posts by midnight!

Finally, pics from my weekend alone with the boy

We spent the night at my mom's house on Friday night and then went out to breakfast. Gage at a whole belgian waffel. Then we went to the Old Canery. This is where the pics begin. (the picture of Gage alone with his coat was taken while waiting in line for our ride) We had a ride on a carriage powered by a horse named Gabel. Gage loved it. Then we went inside where he got his picture taken infront of a pretty tree instead of with Santa. Then we went to the Christmas parade. One of the pics is Gage with his Aunt Kylee. My younger sister. She is actually the one who took most of these pics. Except of course the one's she is in. Oh, I couldn't help but put a pic of my brother Jordan. He was in the parade playing his trumpet. He is the taller of the two guys in the pic. The second one in. This is where the pics end. Anyway, then Gage and I went back home and over to a friends house for games. On Sunday we went to church and then spent a good portion of the day at our neighbors house. Then Kylee came over in the evening and that was our fun weekend.

Just my luck

This weekend was Nate's work party. At the end they hold a raffle for about 6 or 7 prizes. We never win.......... until now! We won the biggest prize of them all.

Drumroll please.............. just my luck.

A picnic pack of wine and cheese. A bag that hold two bottles of red wine, yes it was fully loaded, plus it had a cutting board for cheese and a knife and a wine bottle opener. Plus, it came with a book all about the top 100 wines. If any strangers are reading this, I do not consume any alcoholic beverages, EVER.

Everyone got a good laugh since they know that Nate and I do not drink. Of course everyone was yelling out, "I'll take it." We tried to trade it for the magic bullet blender, (as seen on tv) but they weren't taking it. Then we tride to trade for the ipod shuffle. (These prized seem like they may be more expensive, but apparently the wine inside was quite pricey) We had a girl offer to trade us a mr. potato head guy for it. We ended up trading it for a roll out keyboard that I'm sure the kids will love. That guy got a good trade!!

Random Pics

In my very first blog I talk about how my hard drive on this computer is basically full and how in order to put new pics on, I must take old ones off. Well, this is one of those times. I need to delete a folder and so I wanted to post some pics from it before I remove them. They are just too cute not too share.

This pic cracks me up because Gage and his big Uncle are wearing necklaces, but not Kyah.

He loves to do his hair spikey when he gets out of the bath
