I only posted about our first two days in Hawaii. For journalling purposes, I would really like to get the rest documented.
On our third day there we slept in LATE- due to our late night at the Polynesian Culture Center the night before. Because day 3 was December 7th, the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we decided to go there. The day was rainy and windy, but still warm. We got to Pearl Harbor just after lunch time and everything was already sold out. No tickets to any of the museums or memorials left. So basically we just walked around the visitor's center and then caught the bus to go home. I enjoyed seeing the men in uniform there. Especially the older gentlemen that I imagined were actual survivors. Pretty cool.

I just have to tell you there was a TV crew there. Not necessarily a news crew, I'm not sure what was going on, but there was this guy totally posing for the cameras like he was totally devastated and just sitting there in deep contemplation. For some reason it was a little amusing to me and I couldn't help but sneak a picture of this bazaar scene. I had my camera around my neck and just pushed the shutter button without looking through the camera. This is what I got.

The bus ride back was taking FOREVER. We apparently were in rush hour traffic and it was crowded. After two hours of riding on the bus, we decided we were close enough to walk and we were hungry. (I had called my friend Michelle to verify how close we were and where the good spots to eat were.) So we got off the bus and walked around until we found something that looked good to eat. After that we went to the beach and I got this picture. It is not edited at all. Like I said it was a rainy, windy day.

I wanted to get a picture of the Waikiki beach at night. It was hard because if you use a flash, you don't get to see the beach, just whatever is right in front of you. Like this.

But I didn't have a lens that would let enough light in to have a shutter speed that would be quick enough so it wasn't blurry. Enough camera operations talk, the point is that I couldn't get a good shot. It's blurry, but here you go.

And that was day 3.
