Moments of a Mother

Today I was getting Gage ready and he said something to me that was so very precious. It melted my heart and reminded me of all reasons why I love being a mother.

Gage: Momma you are always making me so happy. You're my girl.

Maybe I am doing something right. :)

Time Out For Women

Last Saturday Kylee and I had the chance to attend a Time Out for Women Conference. It is basically a Sat. full of speakers/musicians to listen and learn from. It is put on by Desseret Book, an LDs Book Store. And of course, it's for women.

When we lived in Bellevue, I had the opportunity to go to church with Kim and Lois Nelson who became dear friends of ours. Kim happens to be an author who is published by Desseret Book. He is a hilarious, talented, and very gifted man. He is also a presenter at Time Out for Women. His wife Lois called me up earlier in the week to tell me Kim would be a present here in Utah and asked if I wanted tickets to go. VIP tickets no less!! So a huge thank you goes out to my good friends Kim and Lois!!!!

Kylee and I had a GREAT time! It was so much fun. It did wonders for my spirit to have a day like this. I took a little video when Kim was presenting. Basically he said he was trying to make the stage more like women. He had a HUGE doily over the table and then in the video, pulls out glass grapes to put on the table. I guess glass grapes used to be really popular. And of course I took pics. You'll notice we were in the front row!!

Harry Potter Jelly Bean Videos

Kylee, Kimm and I decided to buy Harry Potter jelly beans. Basically it is a box that has disgusting flavors of jelly beans. The catch is that there are jelly beans that will look exactly like each other but one will be a normal flavor and one will not. For instance, orange is either peach or vomit. You don't know until you eat it. For some reason we thought this little Russian roulette jelly bean game was fun, but disgusting! I didn't get too many videos of us girls. The next night however, my BIL Tom and his friend Chan were over playing cards, and I convinced them to try the jelly beans. Too funny.

Taking My Husband Back! (at church)

So every week at church, the kids sit in between Nate and me. Well, last week I decided I was done having the kids in between us. I wanted to sit by Nate. The kids could sit on either side of us. Well, a certain three year old princess had a little problem with this. Apparently Kyah wanted Daddy all to herself. She was trying her hardest to squeeze herself in between Nate and me. It was pretty funny. It was a hard fought battle and she eventually gave up and settled for sitting on Daddy's lap. I think this new seating arrangement will become permanent. :)

Chirstmas Eve 2008

We hosted Christmas Eve this year. Nate's immediate family came over and also my sister Kimm. We had a yummy dinner with Ham, broccoli salad, mashed potatoes and raspberry jello. Then we had several games going on with prizes. I took pictures of our DVD Price is Right game, Kimm won, and of our Wii Tennis Tournament, Tom won. It was a fun night!

Contestants Row

Kimm winning the showcase showdown. She was so excited because she really wanted the summer sausage that was the prize. Sorry, not a new car.

Time to Hit the Gym..... apparently harder than I have been.

Tonight's dinner conversation:

Gage: Momma, I think you're pregnant

Kyah yelling: Mommy you ARE pregnant

Me, thinking that Gage maybe has some close relationship with God and has some insights that I don't know about yet: Why do you say that Gage?

Gage: Because of your big belly

Kyah all sorts of excited: Yah, because of your big belly. You ARE pregnant.

I was SHOCKED. Seriously shocked.

And then I went in my room and cried. Not really, but I wanted to. Nice huh.

Dress Up Anyone?

My mom got Kyah a wig for Christmas. I think it looks so cute on her. And I might have forced Gage to put it on and let me take his picture. (That may require future therapy huh.) Well, he would make a pretty cute little girl. :) Kyah is too funny. Her little 3 year old self has so much personality!

My New Running Buddy

This is my new running buddy Jen. I love her. You can read about our run today on my marathon training blog.

Snow, Snow, and More Snow

I swear it's been snowing for 24 hours. I do like the snow, but not when it makes the roads super bad and I can't get anywhere. Like to the Doctors office to get my hand x-rayed because I bit it real tough yesterday while shoveling snow. Uggg. I actually think that maybe I just sprained it bad. Still annoying. My kids however, have been loving the snow. Today after Kyah and I walked Gage to school, I let her play in the front yard. It was hilarious. I got a cute video. I'd say we have a fresh new FOOT of snow. Wow.
